Summary of Carlos Riumallo Herl鈥檚 NWO Vidi research project

The project, titled 鈥淪creening for cardiovascular diseases: The role of behavioural and non-behavioural barriers to uptake鈥, studies why individuals often fail to engage in preventive care for cardiovascular diseases. The research investigates how people form beliefs about health risks and disease severity, and how these perceptions influence screening attendance. By identifying and addressing these misperceptions, the project aims to design interventions that encourage greater participation in preventive care.
