Free Furniture Festival

On Friday, 21 August (Erasmus University Campus) and Saturday, 12 September (Citrusveiling), from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Municipality of Rotterdam, together with Ontspulknul, ��Ů��ӰԺ��ҹ and other educational institutions, is organising the Free Furniture Festival: two large giveaway events where (new) Rotterdam students can collect free second-hand furniture and household items. From sofas and desks to pots and pans, lamps and tableware – everything is clean, in good condition, and ready to use. Once it's gone, it's gone!

During this event, students can collect free furniture and household items to help furnish their accommodation in a sustainable and affordable way. The goal is to keep studying in Rotterdam accessible while demonstrating the value of reusing furniture and household items. It's an ideal combination of affordability and sustainability:

It saves students a lot of money;
It extends the lifespan of furniture and household items;
It reduces waste and CO₂ emissions.

The event is free of charge for students. Please note that availability is limited, so items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Desks and tables
Chairs
Cabinets
Lamps
Kitchenware and crockery
Pans
Vacuum cleaners
And much more

The items on offer have been checked in advance. However, we cannot guarantee that they are completely free from hidden defects. Taking an item home is at your own responsibility. Please inspect the furniture carefully yourself. And remember: once it's gone, it's gone!

Transport: Cargo Bikes & Vans Available

Parking at the Erasmus University Campus parking garage costs €1.80 per hour (maximum vehicle height: 2.10 metres). Don't have your own transport? On both event days, cargo bikes and vans will be available for hire to transport your furniture (€15). Please note: bring your own bag for smaller items.
