Biography

Dr. Andy Sanchez is a Senior Researcher in Human-Centric Digitalisation at ÃÀÅ®¸£ÀûµçÓ°ÔºÎçÒ¹. His research focuses on the impact of technology on society, with particular focus on human rights, digital literacy, and science policy. At Erasmus, he is the lead researcher for SEISMIC, a Horizon Europe initiative piloting AI-driven technologies in 17 industries across Europe, with the aim of supporting worker rights and wellbeing. He also supervises the ENERGENIUS initiative, which is dedicated to understanding how digital tools can support the energy transition. He contributes to Sectorplan SSH-Breed, ‘The Influence of Digitalization on Work, Prosperity and Entrepreneurship.’

Prior to his time at Erasmus, Dr. Sanchez was a Senior Researcher at the Sustainable Media Lab at Inholland University of Applied Sciences, with a joint appointment at the AI Futures Lab at TU Delft. In this role, he co-developed an award-winning exhibition on the impact of digitisation on democracy, and he toured this interactive project to over 2200 European residents in four countries. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Science Policy & Governance (JSPG), where he has helped over 350 early career researchers translate scientific concerns into accessible policy recommendations.
