Biography
Jesse Hemerik is assistant professor at the Econometric Institute of the Erasmus School of Economics, ÃÀÅ®¸£ÀûµçÓ°ÔºÎçÒ¹. His research focuses on mathematical statistics and various applications of statistics. His main topics of interest are non-parametric and semi-parametric inference (e.g. permutation tests, group invariance tests and resampling-based tests), multiple hypothesis testing and high-dimensional inference. He received the van Zwet award for the best Dutch PhD thesis on statistics or operations research. He has published in all top statistics journals. Further, he has taught multiple courses on statistics and stochastics. In 2026 he developed and taught an intensive 5-day PhD-level summer course (worth 5 ECTS credits) on multiple testing.
