Merieke Stevens is a Professor at the Technology & Operations Management Department of RSM Erasmus University, where she holds the chair of Supply Ecosystems. She is a Visiting Academic Fellow at the Institute for Manufacturing, Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, and serves as Department Editor for Technology Management at the Journal of Operations Management.
Merieke's research focuses on how supply ecosystems can be adjusted to improve economic, societal, and environmental outputs. Process-embedded people are key to her research, and one of her focus areas is the use of trust and digital tools to improve transparency and sustainability.
Merieke lived in Japan for several years, where she conducted extensive on-site research in the automotive industry. She retains her automotive focus, but applies her experience to other settings such as medical teams, global ports, and the energy infrastructure.
Merieke was the recipient or runner-up for several awards, including the PMB best teacher award; the Journal of Operations Management Reviewer Service Award; the Industry Studies Association Giarratani Rising Star Award; the Institute for Supply Management Best Paper in Supply Chain Award; and the Cambridge Judge Business School Best Doctoral Paper Award.
Merieke teaches, amongst others, the core course Operations Management in RSM's fulltime MBA. She has held visiting positions at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; the Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo; and the Management Research Center, École Polytechnique Paris.
