Biography
Nick Koning is assistant professor of Machine Learning and Data Science at the Econometric Institute.
He obtained his PhD in 2021 in econometrics, and his interest has since drifted to the foundations of statistics. His current work focusses on hypothesis testing and general uncertainty quantification using E-values.
Nick has worked on the foundations of the E-value, testing with data-dependent significance levels, sequential testing, conformal prediction, equivalence testing, permutation testing and reporting evidence against multiple hypotheses.
His work on this topic has been published in top statistics journals, including the Annals of Statistics, the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series B, Biometrika and Statistical Science.
