Biography
Jiwei Chen is a PhD researcher at the Institute of Social Studies of ÃÀÅ®¸£ÀûµçÓ°ÔºÎçÒ¹ in the Netherlands.
His PhD project investigates how energy transition projects (large-scale and decentralized) affect economic productivity and how energy innovation responds to climate change-induced risks in China.
His academic interests lie broadly in Climate Change Economics, Development Economics, and Economics of Innovation in developing countries. He is particularly interested in the impact of energy policies related to climate change mitigation, such as those aiming to support the development of clean energy.
He has research experience in green finance policy, fossil energy consumption, and the productivity consequences of the technology gap between countries. His research focuses on the following countries and regions: China, ASEAN, the Belt and Road Initiative countries, and RCEP.
